Ask for the review the day the job is done

The end of the job is when the work is freshest. Tell CrewBuddy the job is finished and it drafts a short request with your review link, ready to send that evening.

What you send: The customer’s first name, the job, and anything specific about it. Your Google review link is saved once in your Business Brief.
What you send
What you get: A two or three sentence review request in your voice, with your review link, and a reminder to you if you want one.
What you get

Fictional example.

Ask everyone, and ask honestly

The FTC’s rule on reviews bars fake reviews and bars rewards that depend on the review being positive. Google’s policy goes further and does not allow any incentive for a review, or asking only the customers you expect to be happy. So the request goes to every finished job, it asks for an honest review, and it offers nothing in return.

CrewBuddy drafts the request and keeps track of which jobs have had one. You send it from your own phone or email. It does not text customers or post anything on Google itself. Yelp asks businesses not to ask for reviews at all, so the request points to Google.

When reviews come in, use the good review reply and bad review reply recipes. The reviews guide has more on the rules.
