Add my calendar

Show your assistant your calendar yourself, with a screenshot, or connect it once with a calendar link on your private page. No one has to set anything up for you.

Works today

Nothing to connect. You only text your assistant.

Suggested tools

You can set these up yourself. Get the app, follow the steps, then copy the prompt.

  • Apple Calendar

    Free

The calendar app that comes on every iPhone.

    Download for iPhoneOpen the website

    1. Open Calendar and tap today so you see the whole day.
    2. Take a screenshot.
    3. Text the screenshot to your assistant with the prompt below.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • I use the Calendar app on my iPhone and I want you to plan my day around it. Walk me through it one step at a time and wait for me after each step: open Calendar on today, take a screenshot and send it here. I will also text what I need to get done. Then plan my tasks around my appointments and give me my top 3.

It only sees what is in the picture, and it can read a time wrong, so check the times.

  • Google Calendar

    Free

Google's free calendar app. It works on iPhone, Android and the web.

Download for iPhoneDownload for AndroidOpen the website

    1. Open Google Calendar and go to the view that shows today.
    2. Take a screenshot.
    3. Text the screenshot to your assistant with the prompt below.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • I use Google Calendar and I want you to plan my day around it. Walk me through it one step at a time and wait for me after each step: open the view that shows today, take a screenshot and send it here. Then tell me where I have free time and what to do first.

It only sees what is in the picture and it does not add anything to your calendar.

  • Microsoft Outlook

    Free

Microsoft's free email and calendar app.

Download for iPhoneDownload for AndroidOpen the website

    1. Fastest way: open the calendar in the Outlook app, take a screenshot of the day or week, and text it to your assistant.
    2. For a link instead: on a computer, open Outlook.com and go to the calendar. Open Settings, then Calendar, then Shared calendars.
    3. Under Publish a calendar, pick your calendar and how much detail to show. Click Publish.
    4. Copy the ICS link and paste it into the Calendar field on your private page, never into chat.
    5. To stop sharing, go back to the same screen and click Unpublish.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • I use the Outlook calendar and I want you to read it. Walk me through it one step at a time and wait for me after each step. The fast way is a screenshot of my day or week. For a link, on a computer I open Outlook.com, Settings, Calendar, Shared calendars, Publish a calendar, and paste the ICS link into the Calendar field on my private page. Then tell me what I have this week and where I have free time.

Anyone who has the published link can see that calendar, and your assistant can only read it, not change it.

What to text

  • Here is a screenshot of my calendar for today. Help me make a plan I can really do.

  • Here is my week. Where do I have 2 free hours for paperwork?

  • Here is a photo of a flyer. List the dates and times so I can add them to my calendar.

  • I have a dentist visit on Friday at 3. Write it down so I do not lose it.

  • What did I ask you to write down for this week?

Steps with a screenshot

  1. Open the calendar on your phone. Go to the day or the week you want help with.
  2. Take a screenshot. See Photos and documents for how.
  3. Text the screenshot to your assistant with a question. For example: "Where do I have free time?"
  4. It reads the screenshot and answers. It can only see what is in the picture.
  5. For a new appointment, ask it to write down the day and the time. Then add it to your calendar yourself.
  6. Send a new screenshot when your calendar changes.

Or connect it once

  1. Text: "Send me my private page." Open the link and tap the Connections tab.
  2. Get your calendar's share link. The Calendar card on that tab shows where to find it in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook.
  3. Paste the link in the Calendar box on that page and tap Connect. The link goes on your private page, never in a text. If you paste it in chat, your assistant will not take it.
  4. From then on it reads your calendar on its own. Ask: "What do I have tomorrow?" It still cannot add or change appointments.

Example conversation

You:Screenshot: a calendar week

Here is my week. Where do I have 2 free hours for paperwork?

Your assistant:

From your screenshot, you have two open blocks: Tuesday from 1 to 4, and Thursday from 9 to 11. Thursday morning looks best, because Tuesday is right after a long job.

You:

Put paperwork on Thursday at 9.

Your assistant:

I can read your calendar but I cannot change it. I wrote it down here: paperwork, Thursday, 9 to 11. Please add it to your calendar yourself.

This is an example. The words your assistant uses will be different.

Make it stick

  • Send one screenshot each morning, or one on Sunday for the week. Or connect your calendar once and skip the screenshots.
  • Your calendar app stays the place for appointments. Use your assistant to plan around them.

What it will not do

It only sees the screenshots you send or the calendar you connected on your private page. It does not add, move or delete appointments. It never sends invitations. It can read a time wrong, so check the times against your calendar.

Demo notice

During a demo, do not send passwords, card numbers or private customer details. Read the demo rules.
