Photos and documents

This guide shows you how to send a photo or a screenshot so your assistant can read it.

Steps

  1. Open your text thread with your assistant.
  2. Tap the plus (+) or camera button next to the text box. Take a photo, or pick one from your photos.
  3. Check the photo. The words should be clear and not cut off.
  4. Add a short question. For example: "What does this letter say?"
  5. Send. Your assistant reads the photo and answers.

What you can send

  • A letter.
  • A bill.
  • A photo of a product.
  • A screenshot, like a picture of a text or an email on your screen.

How to take a screenshot on an iPhone

  • iPhone without a Home button: press the side button and the volume up button at the same time.
  • iPhone with a Home button: press the side button and the Home button at the same time.

Watch: send a photo of a letter

Your assistant
You:Photo: a letter

What does this letter say?

Your assistant:

This letter is from your supplier. Their delivery day is changing from Tuesday to Thursday, starting next month. They ask you to call if Thursday does not work.

You:

Write a short reply. Say Thursday is fine.

Your assistant:

Here is a draft:

"Hello, thank you for letting us know. Thursday delivery works for us."

You:Photo: a blue mug

Write a short description of this for my price list.

Your assistant:

"Blue ceramic mug with a wide handle. Made by hand."

Animation is off on this device, so all the messages are shown at once.

What happens

  1. Send a photo with a short question.
  2. It reads the photo and tells you what it says in plain words.
  3. Ask for a draft reply.
  4. You copy the draft and send it yourself.
  5. It can read product photos too.
This is an example. The words your assistant uses will be different.

What it will not do

It can tell you what a letter or a bill says. Do not use it for legal, medical or financial advice. Ask a professional for those.

Demo notice

During a demo, do not send photos that show passwords, card numbers or private customer details. Cover them first. Read the demo rules.
