Say it to a customer in English
Write what you want to say in Spanish. Your assistant gives you a short, polite sentence in English that you can say or send.
Works today
Nothing to connect. You only text your assistant.
What to text
How do I tell a customer in English: su vestido estará listo el viernes.
A customer said this: "Can you take it in at the waist?" What does it mean?
Write it so it is easy for me to say out loud.
Give me 5 sentences I use every day at the shop, in English and Spanish.
How do I say the price and that I need a deposit?
Steps
- Type what you want to say in Spanish, the way you would say it.
- Ask for it in English, short and polite.
- Ask it to write how it sounds, if you want to say it out loud.
- When a customer writes or says something in English, type it or send a photo and ask what it means.
- Save the sentences you use a lot. Ask: "Show me my shop phrases."
Example conversation
¿Cómo le digo a una clienta que el arreglo cuesta 45 y que esté lista el martes?
"The alteration is 45 dollars. It will be ready on Tuesday." Do you want it written the way it sounds?
Sí
"Di ol-ter-EY-shon is for-ti-faiv DA-lers. It uil bi RE-di on TUS-dey."
Make it stick
- Learn one new sentence a day. Use it with a real customer.
- Keep the chat open at the counter so the sentence is ready.
What it will not do
It writes the sentence. You say it or send it. It can get a special sewing word wrong, so if a sentence looks strange, ask it to say it another way.
