Write a quote

You text the job and your prices, and your assistant writes a clean quote for you to send.

Works today

Nothing to connect. You only text your assistant.

Suggested tools

You can set these up yourself. Get the app, follow the steps, then copy the prompt.

    3. Copy each item and price from the draft into the estimate.
    4. Take a screenshot of the finished estimate and text it to your assistant to check the math.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • I use Square Invoices. Turn these notes into a quote I can type into an estimate. One line per item: name, short description, quantity, price. Then the total. Notes: (paste your notes)

Your assistant cannot log in to Square or send the estimate. You type it in and you send it.

  • Wave

    2. In Wave, create a new estimate.
    3. Copy each item and price from the draft into the estimate.
    4. Check the total yourself, then send it from Wave.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • I use Wave for estimates. Turn these notes into a quote with one line per item: name, short description, quantity, price. Add the total and a short note about what is not included. Notes: (paste your notes)

Your assistant cannot open your Wave account. It only writes the words and numbers for you to copy.

What to text

  • Help me write a quote for painting two bedrooms. Ask me what you need to know.

  • Quote: deep clean of a 3 bedroom house, 320. Includes inside the oven. Good for 30 days. Make it look clean.

  • Here are my messy notes from the visit. Turn them into a quote: (paste notes)

  • Add a line that says what is not included.

  • Write a short text to send with the quote.

Steps

  1. Text the job, what is included, and your price. You set the price, not your assistant.
  2. Answer its questions. For example: how long the quote is good for.
  3. Read the draft. Check every number and add up the total yourself.
  4. Ask for changes in plain words.
  5. Copy the quote and send it to your customer yourself.

Example conversation

You:

Quote: deep clean of a 3 bedroom house, 320. Includes inside the oven. Good for 30 days. Make it look clean.

Your assistant:

Here is a draft:

"Quote for deep cleaning
Home: 3 bedrooms
Includes: all rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, inside the oven
Price: $320
This quote is good for 30 days.
Thank you for the chance to earn your business."

Do you want a line about what is not included?

You:

Yes. Windows outside are not included.

Your assistant:

Added: "Not included: outside of windows." Please check the price before you send it.

This is an example. The words your assistant uses will be different.

Make it stick

  • After a good quote, say: "Save this as my quote format." Next time, text only the job and the price.
  • Text your notes right after the visit, while you remember the details.

What it will not do

It does not set your prices and does not send the quote. It can make math mistakes, so check the total. A quote is not a contract. For contract wording, ask a licensed professional.

Demo notice

During a demo, do not send passwords, card numbers or private customer details. Read the demo rules.
