Study for a test

Your assistant makes a study plan and quizzes you, a few questions at a time.

Works today

Nothing to connect. You only text your assistant.

Suggested tools

You can set these up yourself. Get the app, follow the steps, then copy the prompt.

  • USCIS official civics study materials

    Free

The official free questions and answers for the citizenship test, from the government.

    Open the website

    1. Open the USCIS study page. There is a Spanish version at the top of the page.
    2. The page explains which test you take, the 2008 test or the 2025 test. Read that part first.
    3. Open the list of questions for your test and copy the link.
    4. Text the link to your assistant and ask it to quiz you from that list only.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • I am studying for the citizenship civics test. Here is the official USCIS list of questions: (paste the link). Quiz me from this list only, five questions at a time. Do not change the official answers.

Your assistant does not tell you which test version applies to you and does not give immigration advice. The USCIS page is the one to trust.

  • Quizlet

Free basic plan. Quizlet Plus is optional. The App Store lists it at $9.99 and $44.99.

A flashcard app. You can paste in cards your assistant writes for you.

Download for iPhoneDownload for AndroidOpen the website

    1. Send your assistant a photo of your study guide and the message below.
    2. Copy the reply.
    3. On quizlet.com, sign in, select Create, then Flashcard set, then Import.
    4. Paste the text, select Import, then Create.
    5. Study the cards in the Quizlet app.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • Make flashcards from this study guide for Quizlet. Put one card on each line: the term, then a tab, then the definition. Send only the cards.

Your assistant can write a card wrong. Check the cards against your official study guide before you study them.

  • Khan Academy

    Free

Free lessons and practice in math, science and more, from a nonprofit.

Download for iPhoneDownload for AndroidOpen the website

    1. Install Khan Academy and pick the subject you are studying.
    2. Do the practice questions.
    3. When you are stuck, take a screenshot of the question.
    4. Text it to your assistant and ask for the steps, not only the answer.

Copy this prompt and give it to your assistant

    • I am studying with Khan Academy and I want help when I get stuck. Walk me through it one step at a time and wait for me after each step: I take a screenshot of the practice question and send it here. Then explain it step by step in simple words, not only the answer, and give me one more like it to try.

Your assistant cannot see your Khan Academy account or your progress, and it can make a mistake in math.

What to text

  • I have a test in 2 weeks for my contractor license. I can study 30 minutes a day. Make a study plan.

  • Here is a photo of a page from my study guide. Quiz me on it, one question at a time.

  • Explain this in simple words: (type the idea)

  • I got that one wrong. Explain why, then ask me another like it.

  • What did I get wrong this week? Quiz me on those again.

  • Quiz me on the questions for the citizenship test, one at a time.

Steps

  1. Text what the test is, the date, and how much time you have each day.
  2. Ask for a study plan that fits that time.
  3. Send photos of your own study guide or notes. Ask it to quiz you from those pages.
  4. Answer one question at a time. Ask it to explain what you miss.
  5. At the end, ask what to review tomorrow.

Example conversation

You:Photo: a page from a food safety study guide

Quiz me on it, one question at a time.

Your assistant:

Question 1: Based on your page, what is the lowest safe temperature for keeping hot food hot?

You:

120 degrees?

Your assistant:

Not quite. Your page says 135 degrees. A way to remember: hot food stays at 135 or above. Ready for question 2?

This is an example. The words your assistant uses will be different.

Make it stick

  • Quiz from your own book or study guide. It is more reliable than asking it for facts from memory.
  • Short sessions every day work better than one long night.

What it will not do

It can state a fact wrong. Your official study guide is the one to trust. It does not take the test for you.

Demo notice

During a demo, do not send passwords, card numbers or private customer details. Read the demo rules.
